I used to be in a bossan nova band - which was funny as i knew nothing about the music! :) played in a English "Latin American" band for a few years, that was great fun, and have done some improvised percussion with a samba band or two, nothing serious though. I have a friend who lives in Spain who teaches Samba - he's also English. That music gets everywhere!
