About Me:

I was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico on the 29 of September of 1952. I am a painter, engraver, sculptor, digital artist, video artist, do installations and performances in my videos. My proffesional art career begun in 1970. My biography appears for the first time in 1973 at the Great Encyclopedia of Puerto Rico and was included in Who's Who in American Art from 1983 to the 1990 my to his credit 58 individual exhibitions and 160 collectives in and outside Puerto Rico until the 2009./I traveled to Russia and northern Europe in 1976. I first exhibited in New York: in 1973 at the Lynn Kottler Galleries and at the Ligoa Duncan in 1975. I also showed at the former Gaymán Gallery in 1983. (now the Museo del Barrio) and at the Gallery II-RSVR, Charlesville, Virginia, Javo gallery, Atlanta, 1978; Ligoa Duncan Galleries, NY, 1978; Seibels Bruce & Co.,Columbia, South Carolina, 1980; The Classic Gallery-Big Tree Shopping Center, Augusta, Ga., 1977;Gertrude Memorial Herbert Art Institute, Augusta,Ga. 1977; Peachtree Place Center, Atlanta, Ga, Second exhibition of local artists, Atlanta, Ga. In 2002 I exhibited collectively in the Prague, Czechoslovakia organized by SOKI of Korea, also participates in collective in Paris, France: at the First American Artists in Paris 1975-76,at the High Museum in Atlanta, Ga.,1976; Center of Conventions of Tokyo, Japan in 1986./I also exhibited collectively at the Classic Gallery in Augusta, Ga. 1972; “The Gallery Barnel Light”, New Jersey, 1976; Hilton Head Gallery of Contemporary Art, South Carolina, 1976-77 and at the Javo Gallery in Atlanta, 1978;Museum of Art of Ponce 1979-80; at the Library San Lázaro of the University of Puerto Rico in 1979;Institute of Puerto Rican Culture in San Juan, individually in 1980,National Annual Art Exhibition jury show organized in 1979-80 and the recent exhibition in 2003./ I have worked a drawing and color instructor, also in silkscreen printing at the Tabaiba Center, (of the late Sister Isolina Ferré) 1984-85; I also worked at the Professional School of Photography as a professor in silkscreen printing, 1990./ I was awarded with important regional and national awards, among them “Best the Award Show”, acquisition prize for the Mc Duffy Art Collection, Thompson, Georgia. I was also awarded with the “Puerto Rican Fund for the financing of the Cultural endowment, granted by the “Institute of Puerto Rican Culture” in 1997 and others. / In recent years I have been creating video arts and documentaries. I participated at the annual Video and Digital Art Festival known as FATICART, Italy (2005, 06, 07-08)./My work is mostly mixed media; texture, transparencies, overlapping material and the use of color. I am a colorist as well as a draughtsman./Although my career begun back in 1970. My work is in public, corporative and private collections in the US, Puerto Rico, the Caribbean, Latin America and Europe./My first digital works came up between 1986 to the 1994 and were drawings done using a computer mouse as a drawing tool.
